The department aims to introduce learners to the dynamic nature of the contemporary world of business and economics by examining real life examples of business activities or economic decisions..

Business studies introduces learners to the role of the entrepreneur and business in society. They will learn about all types of business from sole traders to public limited companies, and evaluate the featuresor strategies that make businesses succeed or fail. They will also investigate the roles of internal functional areas of businesses such as marketing, human resource management, finance, and operations management.
