Cook School has been running for about 10 years. It was established to provide a cooked lunch, for a over 50s club being run from the Tab Centre in Shoreditch .
Six young people are chosen to attend cook School for 6 weeks, they cook a lunch and desert for an average of 40 people ranging from Jacket potato and fillings to a full roast dinner at the end off term. The young people also get to eat what they prepare and interact with the elderly people that attend, they do this extremely well.
They also go on trips to other restaurants and learn about other styles off cooking. Recently the students are studying for their Food Hygiene certificate Level 2, about 10 students have completed this.
There is also a presentation and the the end every half term where the students get a certificate for completing Cook School.
